Meet the Trustees …

Martyn Fox - Trustee

I’ve been coming to the Centre for nearly 10 years with my wife, Pat who has MS.

I attend the Centre most days it is open. The Therapy Centre is a great place to meet people with similar conditions. The Centre offers a number of complementary and alternative therapies, many of which, I have tried so I can recommend them from personal experience.

Maxine Warwicker - Chairperson

Hi my name is Maxine.

I have many years of experience from working in the financial sectors in London to running my own business.  I have been involved with the Centre for over 10 years as my partner has MS.

I simply adore Tottenham Hotspur and love nothing better than going to a music concert!

Noel Baker - Trustee

Hi, I’m Noel. I’ve been working at the Cambs Therapy Centre for the past two years. As well as being a Trustee, I also help out with the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber. I love helping people, and the staff, volunteers and members here, at the Centre, are so friendly.

Before I retired, I worked as a Police Officer, as well as an Advanced Driver Examiner and a Parish Councillor. Therefore, also being trained to operate the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber is a fantastic opportunity.

I work at the Centre on Mondays and Thursdays. The Centre offers varied skilled Therapists in numerous occupations – from massages to foot health. It is a good and friendly meeting place with helpful staff and a small but competent cafe – which supplies light lunches and refreshments. This Centre is a place where people with varied conditions can meet to discuss their problems, health and otherwise, without feeling shy, and know that others share the same feelings and problems.

Keith Lucas - Trustee

Hi, my name is Keith Lucas and I have recently retired. I have been attending on and off ever since it was opened a long time ago as a husband attached to my good lady who was diagnosed with MS over 45 years ago.  Currently, I am concentrating on this website and improving communications between the centre and all the members, volunteers and other trustees!!!

Tim Barke - Trustee

Tim has known about the centre from its previous location on the industrial estate through wife Wendy who has been a member for many years and is a user of the hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

Since retiring from very senior roles in the civil engineering and building industry and running his own consultancy, Tim has been able to attend the centre with Wendy.

Following the reopening this year, he has helped the volunteer gardening team to rectify the sadly neglected gardens (not quite the Lost Gardens of Heligan but getting that way!) and realises that the centre can only exist with the help and support of a team of willing volunteers in many roles.  He has been asked initially amongst other matters, to help coordinate the general fundraising effort of a number of very helpful volunteers.

Having observed the operation of the centre and listened to comments of members over several years, Tim is very keen to ensure that good two-way communication is at the heart of all that happens, for the benefit of Trustees, Staff, Volunteers and most importantly, the Members.
